Between Almelo and Delden it is wonderfully quiet cycling through the Twente coulisse landscape. There is also plenty of cultural history to experience. In Bornerbroek you will pass the monumental Sint-Stephanuskerk. The building dating from 1868 was renovated in 1920 in the style of the Delft School. In the Nijreesbos just below Almelo you will see a former V1 launch track on the left of the Oude Deldenseweg. This was built in 1944 by Italian prisoners of war, but never used. In the heart of Almelo you will pass the beautiful Grote Kerk. A little further on you can take a look at Huize Almelo, a castle from 1652. Finally you will pass through the Twickelse forest. Here you will see the Noordmolen from 1325, further on you will cycle past Kasteel Twickel. Via Delden you will cycle to Camping De Kroeze Danne.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
