The island of Tholen is a true cycling gem. Get on the saddle and come and enjoy the old towns, peace and natural beauty.
Feather pot
Then you cycle through De Pluimpot, a nature reserve that was once part of the channel that cut the island of Tholen in two until 1556. Cycling along the bird-rich Scherpenissepolder you can enjoy a breath of fresh air. It is also wonderful to make miles along the fields and arable lands around the town of Tholen.
Little Mermaid
From the bridge over the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, which opened in 1975, you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. In Nieuw-Vossemeer you can visit the AM de Jonghuis. Here you can learn more about the life of the writer of Merijntje Gijzen. There is also an old café interior and an old shop. At't Wagenhuis you can then enjoy a cozy terrace. Via the Rammegors nature reserve you drive through the polders back to Sint Maartensdijk.
