Description

The route starts at Hotel Snouck van Loosen in Enkhuizen. The colorful bulb fields make cycling beautiful. Medemblik received city rights from Count Floris V in 1289. The town grew into a prosperous port city. You can still see this rich history in the many beautiful old buildings. You pass the Dutch Stoomgemaal Museum where you can admire about thirty steam engines. Then you drive onto the West Frisian Omringdijk, the only monumental dike in the world. De Ven is one of the oldest and most beautiful lighthouses in the Netherlands. This white square brick building dates from 1700 and has a height of 17 meters. You drive back via the old sea wall. Get some fresh air while enjoying the view over the IJsselmeer. A cycling tour full of variety!
