Tour of Enkhuizen, Medemblik and the bulb fields

In the blink of an eye, you'll reach De Weelen. In this nature reserve, you'll see what West Friesland looked like before land consolidation. The natural beauty also includes the bulb fields, a common sight in this region. In Hauwert, you'll pass the magnificent fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. In Midwoud, you can take a break at Grand Café de Post. Just past Twisk, you'll pass a historic station located on the former railway line between Hoorn and Medemblik. Medemblik received its city charter from Count Floris V as early as 1289. The town grew into a prosperous port. This rich history is still reflected in the many beautiful old buildings. Just before Enkhuizen, you'll see De Ven Lighthouse, dating from 1700.
