Smuggling route

Follow in the footsteps of the smugglers and walk the border between Belgium and the Netherlands on this ranger's path across the Strijbeekse Heide in North Brabant. In August, the heath turns purple, although a walk around the island in Goudberg has something magical in every season. The stream forms the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. The peat island in the Goudbergven is one of the last pieces of raised bog in the Netherlands. The red kite flies around above the heath, a beautiful sight. You can recognize it by its forked tail and reddish-brown color. Bring binoculars! In Belgium, you walk between the old maritime pines, avenues and deciduous trees. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash. The walk is largely over sand and partly over meadows and is not suitable for the disabled.
