Description
Stiphout is a Helmond district where you can still find a friendly village atmosphere. Ideal to explore on foot. In the countryside you walk through the Stiphoutse Bossen and the Helmond city park De Warande.
The Warande
In the old village centre you can see the Sint-Trudokerk, a monumental building from 1884. In the countryside you can walk along the green banks of the stream De Goorloop. Stadspark De Warande is a former nature reserve, where the former residents of Kasteel Helmond are buried on an island, surrounded by old beech trees and an impressive weeping willow.
Old Tower
In the countryside, it is nice and quiet to walk along shady paths along fields and fields. You pass through Croy, a hamlet with some beautiful old farms. Further on is the Oude Toren, a remnant of the previous Sint-Trudokerk that was demolished in 1823. Finally, you walk a bit through the Stiphoutse Bossen. In this former production forest you will find Scots pines and Norway spruces, among other things.
