Description
This walking route consists of two loops that take you through Hooge Mierde and the countryside. Put on your sturdy shoes for a walk full of natural beauty and Brabantian cosiness.
Turnhout Heath
In this nature reserve you will mainly see conifers. Take a deep breath and inhale the fresh forest air. Then you walk through the countryside on roads where few cars drive. While you walk under the trees, you look out over the fields and fields. Every now and then you pass a beautiful old farm.
World War II
Back in Hooge Mierde you can visit Museum De Bewogen Jaren. Here you will find a varied and extensive collection of utensils from the Second World War and the Dutch East Indies. You will also pass the Sint Jan Evangelistkerk, which was rebuilt in 1922. The medieval tower was preserved. Then you walk through the valley of the river De Reusel. A beautiful spot to enjoy the peace and quiet.
