Description
From Hooge Mierde you can take a nice walk through the border region. You walk through forests, along fens and across the border. Ideal for relaxing for a day.
Turnhoutse Heide
You walk through the fields on leafy roads. Through the trees you look out over meadows and fields, and you also see some beautiful old farms. After a while you walk through the Turnhoutse Heide. In this nature reserve you will see conifers and heathlands. You will also pass the Zwartven, a beautiful spot.
Experience
From junction 90 you walk a bit straight across the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. On the right are the forests of the Hoge Vijvers. Then you walk along the Experience. Around this old fen you will see flowery grasslands and broom bushes. There is a viewing hut for bird watching. By the way, the name of this area is pronounced Beleven! You walk back through the fields to Hooge Mierde, where you can visit Museum De Bewogen Jaren.
