The route starts at Rijsterbosch. In the wooded Gaasterland you will find many beautiful plants: marshmallow flower, wood anemone, collared anemone and wild garlic are spread throughout the area. In the spring, a colony of sand martins hatches its young in self-dug holes. You will also see the hawk, sparrowhawk and buzzard. De Koggeplaet marina is perhaps the most beautiful spot on the Fluessen. It is an idyllic place directly on the largest lake in Friesland, the Fluessen and the Heegermeer. The Ypecolsga bell tower is located in the village cemetery. A bell tower was often located in smaller municipalities that could not afford a large church tower, so residents still had bells for small ceremonies. Mill De Jager is a mill built in 1719 that was used to saw wood.

This monumental steam pumping station - occasionally still in operation - has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1998 and is the largest steam pumping station in the world. Just as impressive as the steam technique is the beautiful architecture based on the Amsterdam School. The new visitor center was completed in 2011. The visitor is introduced to all the fascinating aspects of the Woudagemaal in a spectacular way.

De Kaai is a flour mill dating back to 1755. Until 2005 the mill was simply referred to as 'de Korenmolen', but in 2006 the mill got its own name: De Kaai.
