Description
It is wonderful to cycle around the Drontermeer. You will find plenty of variety here: forests, vast polders and historic Elburg.
Beautiful Elburg
At junction 45 you will see the Greppelveld on the left, a small-scale nature reserve of moist grasslands. On the other side of the water you pass through the historic heart of Elburg. This beautifully preserved Hanseatic city was once located on the Zuiderzee, and you will experience a unique historical atmosphere here.
Revebos
Then you cycle again along the shore of the Drontermeer. Get some fresh air and enjoy the peace and quiet. Further on you drive through the polders over winding dikes, often lined with trees. It is wonderful to cycle here in this vast landscape. You cross the water again to Flevoland, here you drive through the Revebos. A little later you cycle through the Abbert, another surprisingly beautiful forest.
