Island hopping on the Zeeland coast

Eastern Scheldt storm surge barrier
From Holiday Park de Meerpaal you drive to the Dorpsbos: a varied nature reserve near Biggekerke that was created as part of land consolidation. Then it is wonderful to make kilometers through the vast polders on Walcheren. You drive briefly over Noord-Beveland, here you pass the Banjaard beach, one of the cleanest beaches in the Netherlands. Nice to dip your feet! Then you cross the Oosterscheldekering. Enjoy a breath of fresh air and the views.

Burgh-Haamstede
On Schouwen-Duiveland you cycle through the picturesque Burgh-Haamstede. Here you see, among other things, a partial replica of an old ring rampart. Through nature reserve De Vroongronden you cycle to Renesse, at Strandrestaurant Our Seaside you get off for a well-deserved pit stop. Through the dunes you cycle back to Burgh, via the Oosterscheldekering you cycle to the west side of Walcheren. Here you cycle through the Manteling, a beautiful nature reserve. You also pass through picturesque villages such as Domburg, Westkapelle and Zoutelande.
