Description
During this cycling route you will get to know the area around Uithuizen. Enjoy a nice cycling tour in the vast Groningen landscape with its old picturesque villages. You start at Hotel Ekamper, the perfect base for a cycling tour. This hotel is also the northernmost hotel on the mainland of the Netherlands. While you are cycling the route, you cycle through a typical Dutch environment: polders and meadows. Here and there you will see some mills, such as Molen Grote Geert in Kantens. This mill was originally built in 1818 as a low tower mill. Due to wind obstruction, the mill was raised. You will also pass Asingaborg, of which only the gatehouse remains. When you return, you can rest for a while at Hotel Ekamper and enjoy the nice cycling tour you have made.
