Cycling in the vast Friesland

In Friesland you can really relax with a nice bike ride. This route takes you through the vast polder land and beautiful villages such as Akkrum, Oldeboorn and Gorredijk. You leave from the parking lot on Rijksstraatweg in Heerenveen. You cycle towards the picturesque Akkrum. Here you can see, among other things, the Mennonite Church and the Terptsjerke. Via Veenhoop you cycle through the vast landscape to Nij Beets, where you can take a break at Halte Leppedijk. When the weather is nice you can sit here on the terrace overlooking the pond. Enjoy a drink and a snack and then get back on your bike. During this route you cycle on car-free roads, past extensive grasslands and ditches. Enjoy and completely relax in the Frisian landscape!
