In National Park de Maasduinen lies the longest river dune belt of the Netherlands. You will find several beautiful sub-areas here, such as the Eendenmeer and the Bergerheide. Put on your walking shoes for a beautiful walk.
Maas Dunes
Soon the buildings make way for natural beauty. As you walk along the edge of the forest, you look out over the heath and the waters of the Eendenmeer. This part of the Maasduinen is surrounded by dunes, so it is wonderfully quiet to walk here. You see heather and bell heather, many birds float on the water.
Bergerheide
The Bergerheide is also an oasis of peace. This rolling area consists of a mosaic of forest, heathland and drifting sands. In the middle of the Bergerheide lies the Driessenven, an ancient swamp that served as agricultural land in the twentieth century. Since the turn of the century it was allowed to develop again into an unspoilt piece of nature, beautiful! Between the fragrant conifers you walk back to Nieuw-Bergen. On the way you can take a short break for a cup of coffee at Jaykes.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
