Description
From Spijkenisse you make a round trip over Voorne-Putten. You will pass through the old harbour of Hellevoetsluis.
Bernisse First you drive to Simonshaven, on the edge of this village you see the beautiful white plastered hall church from 1852. Further on you cycle along the banks of the Stompaardse Plas, a nice recreation area. The path continues along the leafy banks of the Bernisse, the waterway that forms the separation between the former islands of Voorne and Putten. Cycling over the high dike along the Spui you can blow out and enjoy the beautiful view.
Beningerslikken The Beningerslikken is a nature reserve that largely consists of former agricultural lands outside the dike. In this reed-rough area you can spot many birds. Then you drive to the port of Hellevoetsluis. Here you can visit the Droogdok Jan Blanken that was built between 1798 and 1822, a unique experience. On quiet roads you drive through the polder and via Zuidland back to Spijkenisse.
