Climbing route Veluwe v2

First you cycle on cycle paths along main roads, then on separate cycle paths of good quality right through the Veluwe. You then enter the slope zone of the Veluwezoom, but you also cycle through the beautiful village of Ellecom, along the IJssel and through its floodplains (Havikerwaard), past a few castles (Rosendael, Middachten) and past beautiful farms (in the Havikerwaard and in De Steeg ). After the Veluwezoom with the beautiful (especially in August and September) heathland Herikhuizerveld, you go through Arnhem-Noord. Here also several climbs but now through residential areas and the parkland. Then the route goes via Oosterbeek and the't Dorp district in Arnhem, and then back to Oosterbeek. Unfortunately, this also means cycle paths along busy main roads, a few traffic lights and sometimes difficult traffic situations. The route then continues through Oosterbeek and further west to Doorwerth. Here too there are several climbs (some of which are car-free), again a sometimes park-like landscape, quieter roads and you also cycle along the Lower Rhine. You can also deviate from the route to view Doorwerth Castle. The route then goes north from Doorwerth towards Schaarsbergen, with a few short climbs, sometimes on separate cycle paths and car-free roads. The route can be shortened at various points. For example, after climbing the Menthenberg-zuid, you can take the Bakenbergseweg to shorten the route to 73 km.
