Cycling through Waalwijk, Heusden and Vlijmen

This route takes you through Waalwijk and Heusden. The first kilometers you ride on the leafy cycle path that runs along the Drainage Canal from 's-Hertogenbosch to Drongelen. This watercourse was dug between 1907 and 1911 to relieve the Bossche Broek from large amounts of water. In Waalwijk you drive along the route of the Langstraatspoorlijn, the former railway connection for the leather industry between Lage Zwaluwe and 's Hertogenbosch. Just before junction 10 you pass the former town hall of Waalwijk, which dates from 1932. You cycle along the Maas to Heusden, a former fortified town where you will find a wonderful historic atmosphere. Further on you will pass the Haarsteegse Wiel, step off to enjoy this idyllic spot. Via Vlijmen you drive to Pannenkoekenrestaurant D\\\'n Berepot in Nieuwkuijk.
