Description
From Zwolle you drive along the banks of the Zwarte Water to interesting towns such as Hasselt, Genemuiden and Zwartsluis. You also cycle through the Olde Maten nature reserve.
Hanseatic city of Hasselt
Then you drive through the countryside above Zwolle. You pass through the Westerveldse Bos, a young nature reserve. Then you drive for many kilometers along the banks of the river Zwarte Water. Get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful landscape. At node 38 you can explore the historic center of the Hanseatic city of Hasselt.

From Genemuiden you take a ferry: always fun, such a nostalgic crossing! Zwartsluis is located at the point where the Zwarte Water and the Meppelerdiep meet. This town was once the transit port for the transport of peat from Drenthe to Holland. You will see some beautiful monumental buildings. The Olde Maten is a beautiful peat meadow area with long rows of alders and swamp forest.
