Description
From Zwolle you drive along the banks of the Zwarte Water to sightseeing places such as Hasselt, Genemuiden and Zwartsluis. You also cycle through the Olde Maten nature reserve.
Hanseatic city of Hasselt
Then you drive through the rural area above Zwolle. You pass through the Westerveldse Bos, a young nature reserve. Then you drive many kilometers along the banks of the Zwarte Water river. Get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful landscape. At junction 38 you can explore the historic center of the Hanseatic city of Hasselt.

From Genemuiden you can take a ferry: always fun, such a nostalgic crossing! Zwartsluis is located at the point where the Zwarte Water and the Meppelerdiep meet. This town was once the transit port for the transport of Drenthe peat to Holland. You will see some beautiful monumental buildings there. The Olde Maten is a beautiful peat meadow area with long rows of alders and swamp forest.
