Description
You drive to Flevoland via Nijkerk. Here you can enjoy the Horsterwold, a beautiful nature reserve. Back in Gelderland you drive through the Speulder and Sprielderbos.
Kruisharse Heath
At Recreatiepark Boslust you can enjoy a wonderful stay in nature. From this address you can easily cycle into the Gelderse Vallei. Here you drive through a mosaic of meadows and farmlands. You also pass through the forests of the Kruishaarse Heide. Then you cycle through the picturesque center of Nijkerk, a pleasant town where you can admire some beautiful monuments. You drive along the Arkervaart, which was constructed at the beginning of the eighteenth century, to the Nijkerkernauw.
Horsterwold
The forests in Flevoland may be young, but they are certainly interesting. For example, with approximately 4,200 hectares, the Horsterwold is the largest contiguous deciduous forest in Western Europe. You will see large chestnuts, oaks, poplars and cherry trees. You can take a ferry back to Gelderland and drive through the forests of the Veluwe. Here too you can enjoy the silence and the varied natural beauty. You will also pass through the centuries-old hamlet of Drie.
