You will find plenty of nature reserves on Goeree-Overflakkee. Ideal to relax for a day on these beautiful islands.
The Schans
In the distance you can already see the 56 meter high Westhoofd Lighthouse from 1950. Near the Brouwersdam you will pass the RTM Remise visitor center. On the Grevelingenmeer you will pass some special small-scale nature reserves, such as the Preekhilpolder. Just before junction 59 is the Schans on the left, a former military fort from 1665.
Oostduinen
On the west side of the island you will pass the Slikken van Flakkee: a pristine nature reserve of dried-up soil, shallow water and mudflats and salt marshes where rye, grasses and thickets grow.
