Tholen is a cycling gem between the Zeeland waters. You will find plenty of natural beauty and peace here. You will also pass through nice places such as Oud-Vossemeer and Sint-Annaland.
House of Roosevelt
The route starts at Huys van Roosevelt in Oud-Vossemeer. Huys van Roosevelt is a place where everyone can eat, drink and enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere. For this you can go to our cozy brasserie downstairs or to the atmospheric restaurant upstairs. But it is also very nice to stay on our sun-drenched outdoor terrace.
From Huys van Roosevelt you set off. You drive along the high Zeedijk; on the left you look out over vast grasslands. You can climb the dike here for a wide view of the surroundings, such as the Scheldt-Rhine Canal. On narrow and quiet roads you drive through the polders. What peace!
Old Vossemeer
After this beautiful trip you will return to Huys van Roosevelt in Oud-Vossemeer. It is very nice to know that Oud-Vossemeer has close ties with a famous presidential family from the United States: Roosevelt. You can visit various locations in Oud-Vossemeer, such as; the Ambachtsherenhuis, where the coat of arms of the Roosevelt family also hangs. You can visit the church that was built on the highest point of Oud-Vossemeer. The mill de Jager is located on the edge of the village and dates from 1850. The mill can be visited on Fridays and Saturdays.
