Description
Around Baarland you walk through the Zak van Zuid-Beveland. A beautiful old cultural landscape where you will find plenty of peace and quiet.
Monks
From Strandbrasserie de Landing you can walk straight through the characteristic landscape at the tip of Zuid-Beveland. Here you walk through a mosaic of small polders, creeks, fruit orchards, rows of trees and mountain ranges. This beautiful area has been slowly reclaimed from the sea through numerous small reclamations. The monks of Sint Bavo from Ghent started this in the twelfth century, so Beveland is named after them.
Western Scheldt
From junction 63 you walk on a dirt road between the meadows. You can fully enjoy the peace and quiet here. Further on you cross the sea wall. At the top you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the wide panorama. You can stroll along the coast of the Western Scheldt at your leisure, where you will see many ships sailing to the port of Antwerp. At Strandbrasserie de Landing it is time for a terrace.
