Description
It is beautiful to walk around's-Heer Arendskerke. Put on your sturdy shoes for a trip through a varied environment.
Pool forest
First you walk along a leafy path along the meadows and orchards. Further away is the Poelbos: a relatively young forest that was developed in exchange for the construction of an industrial estate near Goes. Here you see alders and willows, poplars, ash, oak and beech grow on the higher plots. There is also shrubbery to admire and some brush and reed beds.
Arendshoeve
You then pass the Terluchtse Weel, a photogenic spot that is probably the remains of a medieval dike breach. In the polders you can get a breath of fresh air on the footpaths, while enjoying the vast landscape and the passing clouds. On the Oude Rijksweg you pass the Arendshoeve on the right, a beautiful characteristic Zeeland farm from the early seventeenth century. A replica of this farm has been in Madurodam since 2009.
