Walking route through Waalre and along the Dommel

This walking route takes you through Waalre, the forest and the Dommeldal. In short: a route with plenty of variety. First you walk past the Market. Here you see the Sint-Willibrordus Church from 1925 and some beautiful monumental buildings. You will also pass the Waalres Museum, which is located in a former linen factory from 1861. You will soon walk into the forest. This cover sand area is mainly home to Scots pines that were planted in the 1920s as a job creation project. In the hamlet of Loon you can walk past some old long-fronted farms. In the Dommeldal you see meadows and wooded banks along the rippling Dommel. You also pass the Volmolen. Back in Waalre you will pass the beautiful Old Sint-Willibrordus Church. At Brasserie Meester Keeman you are welcome for a tasty snack.
