Description
You get on your bike in the forests east of Halsteren. Enjoy a nice bike ride between the trees before you cycle through Halsteren. Then you cross the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, the waterway that forms the border between Zeeland and North Brabant. You cycle through Tholen, this former fortified town has a historic atmosphere thanks to the many monumental buildings. Take your time to discover this charming town and take a break at Hart van Tholen! Further on you will pass the Scherpenissepolder, a marshy nature reserve where many coastal and meadow birds live. Through the nature reserve De Pluimpot you cycle to Sint Maartensdijk, which enjoys a protected cityscape. At the Markt you can see why: there are many historic buildings here, such as the former town hall from 1628.
