Beautiful towns on Tholen

You hop on your bike in the woods east of Halsteren. Enjoy a nice ride through the trees to stretch your legs before cycling through Halsteren. Next, you cross the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, the waterway that forms the border between Zeeland and North Brabant here. You cycle through Tholen; this former fortified town harbors a historic atmosphere thanks to its many monumental buildings. Take your time exploring this charming town and stop for a break at Hart van Tholen! Further on, you pass the Scherpenissepolder, a marshy nature reserve home to many coastal and meadow birds. You cycle through the De Pluimpot nature reserve to Sint Maartensdijk, which enjoys protected townscape status. At the Market Square, you can see why: many historic buildings stand here, such as the former town hall from 1628.
