Train walking Borne-Hengelo via Tuindorp 't Lansink

This walking route starts at Borne station and continues its way through Delden with Hengelo station as its final destination. Discover the bustling Hengelo and the outskirts of Borne and Hengelo.

In the heart of Twente
From Borne train station, you leave towards the east. Borne has a cozy and compact shopping center and a versatile rural area. Borne is located in the heart of Twente, making the most beautiful places easy to reach. Get to know the area around Borne and Hengelo during this walking route of almost 20 kilometers. After many kilometers in the rural area, you walk into Hengelo via the west. Zigzagging you walk through the city, along beautiful waters and lakes, such as Waterpark Genseler and the Tuindorpbad.

Beautiful garden village
During the walking route you will also pass Tuindorp't Lansink. This is one of the most beautiful garden villages in the Netherlands. The largest part of Tuindorp't Lansink is a nationally protected village view. Admire this beautiful part of Hengelo, take a walk along the pond and finish with coffee or tea at Tuindorphotel't Lansink. Via the bustling center of Hengelo you walk towards the end point of this walking route: Hengelo train station. From here you can easily take one of the Blauwnet trains to go back home.

Vibrant Hengelo
Hengelo is a relatively young city that only started to grow in the nineteenth century. Landmarks for the city centre of Hengelo are the towers of the Sint-Lambertusbasiliek and the city hall. There is always something to do in Hengelo.
