Train walking from Almelo De Riet to Borne

This Blauwnet walk starts at Almelo de Riet train station and ends at Borne train station. Get to know Twente's nature and its beautiful heaths and forests during this walk of over 16 kilometers.

Outdoor relaxation
From Almelo de Riet station, which is located in the east of Almelo, you leave the city fairly quickly in the direction of Bornerbroek. From here you walk through the Groene Poort, the beautiful rural area between Almelo and Borne. As a hiker, you will definitely enjoy yourself on this route. You have come to the right place in this area if you are looking for relaxation, peace and quiet. Nice and active in the open air, nothing is healthier than that!

Continue on the road

From Bornerbroek you walk to Zenderen and Hertme. You enter Borne via the north. You walk along the Bornsebeek and the Weideplas to Grand Café De Steeg, near the end of this walk. De Steeg is located in the pleasant center of Borne. Take a well-deserved rest here after this pleasant walk. The terrace is covered, so even when it rains you're in the right place.

End point: Borne
Borne is an ideal starting and finishing point for both walkers and cyclists. Borne is located in the heart of Twente. From here you will pass the most beautiful spots in the rural area between Almelo and Borne. After you're done walking, you can easily catch the Blauwnet train back home. Then you can enjoy the beautiful scenery that passes by on the way.
