National Park de Loonse & Drunense Duinen is an ideal hiking area. With this tour you will get to know the many faces of this varied nature area.
Brabant Sahara
From De Rustende Jager you can walk straight into the forests of the Loonse & Drunense Duinen. Enjoy the fragrant conifers, while you switch back a bit. Soon you walk through the shifting dunes that gave this area its nickname The Brabant Sahara. A special environment that you will only find in a few places in the Netherlands. In addition to forest and shifting dunes, you will also find heathland here, what a variety!
Picturesque Giersbergen
On the north side of this national park you no longer walk through dry, but through moist forests. You will also see more deciduous trees here. In the shade of this canopy it is pleasantly cool, especially on warm days this offers a welcome cooling. Further on the landscape opens up every now and then, you look out over small meadows and fields. You come through Giersbergen, a picturesque old hamlet. Back at De Rustende Jager it is time for a terrace.
