Train walking from Coevorden to Emmen

On to New Amsterdam
You start this walk in the historic fortified town of Coevorden. From the Coevorden train station you walk through the cozy streets of the oldest city in Drenthe. Fancy a cup of coffee or a nice breakfast before you really set off? Then you can go to H Design Hotels Kasteel Coevorden in Coevorden in a beautiful castle. Then you head to Nieuw-Amsterdam. While walking you can enjoy wide views over the vast agricultural areas and fields. After almost 20 kilometers of walking you can have a bite to eat at Eetcafe Foodmaster De Viersprong in Nieuw-Amsterdam and a little further on you can take a look at the Van Gogh House. The painter Vincent van Gogh lived in this house for two months.

The last bit
From Nieuw-Amsterdam you walk further to the end point in the south of Emmen. Here you will find the train station Emmen-Zuid, where you can take the train home. Of course you can also choose to explore Emmen further.

Discover Emmen
Emmen is known as the'open, green city\\\' and that is of course not without reason. This city was built with enough space for nature. Take a look around Emmen and discover it for yourself. Furthermore, you will find all kinds of historical buildings and Saxon farms to admire here.
