From authentic Borne to Almelo De Riet

This walking route takes you from the train station of Borne to the train station of Almelo De Riet. The route is over 15 kilometers long and takes you along a beautiful part of Overijssel.

Sightseeing en route
Before you start walking, you can go to Grand Café De Steeg in the pleasant center of Borne. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee and you can also go here for lunch. The terrace is covered, so when it rains you're perfect here. The route starts at Borne train station. Borne, the heart of Twente. A protected village view, a cozy and compact shopping center and a versatile rural area, Borne has it all. At the beginning of the route you will pass Stolpersteine Koppelsbrink 40-42. This is a reminder of the Holocaust in World War II. A Stolperstein is a concrete stone with a brass plate at the top in which the name, date of birth and death is punched.

Walking through Overijssel
This Blauwnet walk takes you through the beautiful surroundings of Overijssel. You leave Borne via the north and you walk zigzagging towards Zenderen and Tusveld. You walk through a green environment along streams and river branches. During this walk you can really relax in the beautiful nature of Overijssel. The route ends at Almelo de Riet station.

Almelo de Riet
Almelo de Riet station is a suburban stop on the railway line from Almelo to Hengelo. With a Blauwnet train you can easily travel here to discover the area on foot.
