Train walk from Enschede to Hengelo

This walking route of over 25 kilometers takes you from Enschede train station to Hengelo train station. A beautiful walk through the nature of Overijssel!

Discover Enschede
The route starts at Enschede train station, which is located on the edge of the center. From here you walk west past Kennispark train station. The Grolsch Veste of football club FC Twente is opposite. You walk right through Kennispark Twente, an enterprising high-tech innovation campus with the University of Twente and many innovative companies.

Beautiful nature reserve
The nature reserve that lies between Enschede and Hengelo is wonderful and relaxing. Here you can really relax! This route connects unique places. You walk along the Lonnekermeer and through the east you enter Hengelo. You will pass the Carmelite Convent on Anninksweg, which is now a school. The terminus of this route is Hengelo train station. This city is also called the metal city, because of the large industry. But Hengelo is also an ideal starting and finishing point for cyclists and walkers. From here you can reach the beautiful places of Twente in no time.
