Train walk from Enschede to Hengelo

This walking route of over 25 kilometers takes you from Enschede train station to Hengelo train station. A beautiful walk through the nature of Overijssel!

Discover Enschede
The route starts at Enschede train station, which is located on the edge of the city center. From here you walk via the west along train station Kennispark. The Grolsch Veste of football club FC Twente is located opposite. You walk straight through Kennispark Twente, an enterprising high-tech innovation campus with the University of Twente and many innovative companies.

Beautiful nature reserve
The nature reserve between Enschede and Hengelo is wonderful and peaceful. This is where you can really relax! This route connects unique places to each other. You walk along the Lonnekermeer and enter Hengelo via the east. You pass the Karmelietenklooster on the Anninksweg, which is now a school. The end point of this route is Hengelo train station. This city is also called the metal city, because of the large industry. But Hengelo is also an ideal starting and ending point for cyclists and hikers. From here you are in no time at the beautiful places of Twente.

Back by train
Get on the train, travel with one of our Blauwnet trains to Enschede to walk this beautiful route to Hengelo from there. From there you can easily take the train back home. On the way you can enjoy the beautiful landscape that rushes past you.
