Description
On the edge of De Biesbosch National Park you can enjoy a stroll through the Karnemeldspolder and along the Bleeke Kil. Along the way you walk through the village of Hank, but otherwise you only walk through quiet nature reserves.
The Bleeke Kil
You start this tour between the village of Hank and the nature of the Biesbosch. From here you set course for the Bleeke Kil creek. This stream starts at the village of Nieuwendijk and runs towards Hank. Ultimately the creek flows into the open water of the Brabantse Biesbosch via a pumping station. This creek used to be a wide waterway that provided access to Hank's harbor. After the reclamation of part of the Biesbosch, the water changed into the narrow creek that you now find here. You then walk through the polders, which were largely constructed in the 17th century. Enjoy the peace and quiet and admire the birds that like to perch here.
Historical Hank
The last part of the route takes you through Hank. Here you can take a look at the historic harbor. You will also find all kinds of old farms of the West Brabant type here. Eventually you will arrive back at the point where you started your journey.
