Description

On the edge of De Biesbosch National Park, you can go for a wonderful walk through the Karnemeldspolder and along the Bleeke Kil. On the way you walk through the village of Hank, but for the rest you only walk through quiet nature reserves.

The Bleeke Kil
You start this tour between the village of Hank and the nature of the Biesbosch. From here you set course for the Bleeke Kil creek. This stream starts at the village of Nieuwendijk and runs towards Hank. The creek eventually flows into the open water of the Brabantse Biesbosch via a pumping station. This creek used to be a wide waterway that provided access to Hank Harbor. After the reclamation of part of the Biesbosch, the water changed into the narrow creek that you now find here. You then walk through the polders that were largely built in the 17th century. Enjoy the peace and admire the birds that like to settle here.

Historic Hank
The last part of the route takes you through Hank. Here you can take a look at the historic harbor. You will also find all kinds of old farmhouses of the West Brabant type here. Eventually you will return to the point where you started your journey.
