This route takes you past the villages of Luttenberg, Raalte, Heino and Lemelerveld and introduces you to the Sallandse Heuvelrug nature reserve. According to some, the name Salland is a corruption of'IJsselland\\\'. Salland is known for its many rest points. A rest point offers the opportunity for a short stop with residents in the rural area of Salland. This beautiful cycling route takes you around the municipality of Raalte, which is seen as the center of Salland. The four villages you cross each have their own sights. The route starts at the village of Luttenberg. Directly south of Luttenberg is the nature reserve of the same name with predominantly forest and a few heathlands. This nature reserve is an isolated part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. The route takes you past Raalte where you come face to face with the impressive Plaskerk, which was partly built in Romanesque and partly in late Gothic style, and the Roman Catholic basilica. When you visit Heino you can be amazed by the many estates. The best known of these is't Rozendael and is privately owned. Another attraction in the center of Heino is the Leugenpomp. According to an old legend, this village pump only provides water to people with a clear conscience. Nowadays, this pump symbolically provides continuous water during the annual Pump Days. The route continues and takes you to the village of Lemelerveld. This village was founded only 150 years ago and has no fewer than three churches: a Roman Catholic, a Dutch Reformed and a liberated Reformed.
