Castles and heathland between Goor and Delden

This Blauwnet walk takes you from Goor to Delden, a walk of almost 30 kilometers. There is plenty to see along the way: you walk through the forest and along the water.

Hof van Twente
The starting point of this route is Goor train station. Goor is located in the municipality of Hof van Twente. Goor was founded in the 11th century along the low water of the Regge. Due to the low water level, only small transport ships with a flat bottom (zompen) could sail on the Regge. The Regge has been of great importance for the character and development of Goor. Various branches ran along and through the city.

Castles 

The nice thing about this walk is that you come across beautiful castles along the way: Weldam and Wegdam. Further on you walk through the heathland. The route leads to the center of Delden, where Delden station is the end point of this walk.

Twickel estate
The town of Delden is completely surrounded by the Twickel Estate, a beautiful nature reserve where you can enjoy walking or cycling. Twickel Castle is the center of the 4,000 hectare estate.
