Train bicycles: from Hengelo to Enschede

Carmelite Monastery
This cycle route starts at Hengelo train station . Via the center you drive to the Carmelite Monastery. Not so long ago, fathers who taught at school lived in the monastery. Now students from the De Grundel Lyceum receive lessons in the monastery. You leave the city via the east of Hengelo towards the greenery. Follow the route along the Lonnekermeer towards Twente air base. You can make a detour to Lonneker to have a cup of coffee at Café Sprakel in the Dorpsstraat.

Kennispark train station
You cycle zigzagging towards the south through Zuidkamp. Then you cycle west again, along the water, to Kennispark train station. Maybe you still have time to discover the energy-neutral bicycle and pedestrian path that connects Kennispark train station with the University of Twente. On this path you will be surprised by high-tech elements that are innovative and experimental. From there it is a short distance to the end of the route: Enschede train station.

End point of the route: Enschede

Enschede station is located on the edge of the city center. From here you can enjoy the nature reserve between Hengelo, Enschede and Oldenzaal by bike or on foot. So get on the train and travel with one of the Blauwnet trains to one of the stations and take a nice bike ride from there.
