Visit the botanical garden

This cycle route is not too long, so you have plenty of time to get off at sights along the way. The route starts at Heino station. You then cycle south to Kasteeltuin het Nijenhuis, a botanical garden in a beautiful location. Step off and stroll through the gardens, admiring the butterflies and birds. A must see for nature lovers.

Nijenhuis Castle

After visiting the gardens, you can visit Kasteel het Nijenhuis, which has a rich history dating back to 1382. Part of the extensive collection of collector Dirk Hannema can be viewed in the castle and a sculpture garden surrounds the castle with about 80 sculptures. The castle is fully accessible to the public. An impressive combination of nature and culture. Via Wijhe you continue to De Velner Castle, where now only a farm stands on the site of the left building house. The cycle route then continues north along Velnerhoek. The route ends in Raalte at the train station.

End point: Raalte

The cozy shopping center of Raalte offers a mix of different shops, something for everyone. After a snack and a drink in the bustling village, you'll be back at Raalte train station in no time to go home.
