Cycling through Voornes Duin and Brielle

Brielle is a beautiful old fortified town that is also called Den Briel. That's right, the town where Alva lost his 'glasses'. In Voornes Duin you can enjoy the varied nature.

Stone Baak
At Restaurant Aan Zee you can enjoy a tasty and sustainable meal in a special place. Then you loosen your legs on the wooded edge of Oostvoorne. From a distance you can see the Stenen Baak, a former lighthouse from 1630 that can be visited at regular intervals. The largely seventeenth-century fortress of Brielle is one of the best preserved defense works in the Netherlands. Thanks to the many old buildings, you will experience a wonderful historic atmosphere here.

Museums
Historical Museum Den Briel is highly recommended. Here you will learn more about the history of the fortified city. Just past the ribbon village of Tinte you pass Museum in den Halven Maen. Here you take a wonderful leap back in time thanks to old objects such as groceries, tin and tobacco items. Via Oostvoorne you make another loop through Voornes Duin, a beautiful nature reserve. Enjoy the peace and quiet here while cycling through the dune forests.
