There is plenty to do in Leeuwarden, especially now that the Frisian city is the cultural capital of Europe. With this route you will discover the rich culture and urban nature.
Prinsentuin
You immediately see many monumental buildings on the Eewal. Some date back to the early seventeenth century! Further on you walk past the Prinsentuin, the park was constructed in 1648 on behalf of Prince Willem Frederik of Nassau.
Frisian Museum
You walk along the Noorder Stadsgracht for a while, after which you cross the water and walk past the Rengers Park, which was built in the early twentieth century on behalf of Baron Rengers. Once you have crossed the Dokkumer Ee, you will soon arrive at the next piece of beautiful urban nature: the Dokter Zamenhofpark. You can visit the Other Museum on the Ooster Stadsgracht. In the old center you also pass the Fries Museum.
