Tour of Roovertsche Heide

You walk through the Brabant countryside on car-free roads. You'll quickly get into your rhythm here as you walk past meadows and fields. Every now and then you pass a characteristic old farm. It is wonderfully quiet here. De Roovertsche Heide is nicknamed the 'Estate of the Poor'. A charity foundation once bought this area as a job creation project, but this plan failed. The path initially winds through the fragrant conifers. After a while you walk along a straight lane, on the right you have views over the fields. You walk to Esbeek along the former route of the steam tram line to Poppel. Here you pass the Holy Adrian Church and the adjacent parsonage, two national monuments.
