On foot through Son, the Dommeldal and the Sonse Bergen

After a delicious meal at Hotel & Restaurant La Sonnerie, you walk through Son. At junction 65 you look out over a large square. On the right is the tower of the former Sint Petrus\\\' Bandenkerk. The tower dates from 1526, the church was destroyed by fire in 1958. West of Son you walk through the woods, an extension of the Sonse Heide nature reserve. Then you walk through a leafy neighborhood where you pass some beautiful buildings. To the right of this district you walk through the Sonse Bergen. This nature reserve was purchased by Anton Philips in 1925. He had the former agricultural and heathland area changed into Son Estate: a forest with Scots pine, spruce and oak. Finally, you walk a bit through the Dommeldal, a picturesque spot.
