Description

The land opposite the farm is Polder Hensbroek, followed by Polder Ursem. The nature reserve is a peat polder which was embanked in 1535 and drained. The height difference compared to the ring canal is about three meters. The area that used to consist of farmland for livestock, flower growers, bulb growers and market gardeners is now a recreational area and accessible to the public.

In 2001 Boer Dol exchanged the herd of dairy cows for beef cattle. In the early years the cows were still tied up, now they walk in pairs outside or in the sloped barn and there is a free range from outside to inside. He deliberately invests time in this to build a bond with the cattle. Every day the farmer walks through his cattle, whether they are indoors or outdoors. According to farmer Dol, you can also see a clear difference here with the dairy cows of the past. A Blonde'd Aquitaine is'smarter\\\' than a dairy cow, as soon as you walk into the country with a stick or string in your hands, the heads immediately go up.
