Description

Farmer Bouwman has been working with sheep for about thirty years. The first four sheep came along as a dowry, just like the goat, by the way. When the lambs are born early in the season, the stable is a kind of labyrinth. The fences are placed in such a way that the lambs can go to the crèche. Here they have tasty biks ready for them to eat in addition to their mother's milk. The sheep are now walking nicely outside, every two to three weeks they are moved to a pasture around Warder.

Between Oosthuizen and Warder lies the hamlet - as they say in North Holland - Etersheim. It is the breeding ground of the adventures of Dik Trom (no. 19). Do you remember him? The first book appeared in 1891 and the author was a teacher at the small school in Etersheim. Today it is a museum with no fewer than 1,200 children's books. The school is surrounded by meadows and the beautiful nature of Waterland.
