Lustwaranderroute West

Around 1900, new villas arose along the southern flank of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The long ribbon of villages between Leersum and Zeist turned into the"Stichtse Lustwarande\\\" with stately villas and beautiful country houses. Even today, the wooded region is still an attractive residential area for commuters and seniors. And those who don't live there come to recreate. Numerous hiking, riding and cycling trails have been laid out in the woods. This route takes you through the vast forests of Boswachterij Austerlitz, along the Leersumse Veld, the transition area from Heuvelrug to Gelderse Vallei, and the Kromme Rijn area.
