This route is offered to you by'The friends of the Brabantse Kempen\\\'.
This route 3-9 passes some of our members in'De Kempen\\\' and is part of 8 other cycling day trips that pass all our addresses. You can find these in the'Discover Here\\\' booklets that are available free of charge from our participants and the TIP/Tourist Office and Information offices in'De Brabantse Kempen\\\'. 
The start of this 42 km bike ride is at Hotel Jagershorst, one of the many of'De Vrienden van De Kempen\\\' club. Of course, you can also start anywhere else on the route, as these are cycling laps.
We cross the main road here (Be careful!) to take the cycle path towards Leende and after the viaduct turn right twice to arrive at the Hospes after another viaduct in Leenderstrijp, from there we go to Craenendonck Castle, around Soerendonk we arrive in Budel center and via Airport Budel we go along the border to buy and view blueberries (and the Dodendraad 14-18) and then take a detour via De Bever to the Achelse Kluis to get from the last Achel trapist and others to enjoy. And via FKP 217 we go via 36.56 and the Coöp-St,Jan and after FKP 54, De Kapel and de Molen we return to our starting point through the woods. Restaurant-brasserie De Coockpit is located near the runways of Kempen Airport. A nice place for a pleasant stopover or as a base for a trip through the wooded area. With Weert, there is also a pleasant town within cycling range. At De Coockpit you can be surprised by the tastiest dishes: they are French-oriented and prepared with fresh and seasonal products. You can sit down in the brasserie for a quicker bite or a cup of coffee. The terrace is located at the airport. You've probably never eaten so close to an airplane before.

In Leende there were of course more places where people in hiding stayed, including the address Strijperstraat 25. Another place where people in hiding stayed was where the pancake house on the Valkenswaardseweg is now. There used to be a few wooden barracks, including a boardroom. This was used as a hunting and holiday residence. During the war, the Bas de Gaaij Fortman sr. Family also stayed there. The family also regularly offered shelter to changing people in hiding in their holiday home and had to provide extra food. For this they went back to Louis Rutten. A family also stayed with the widow Willems - Bax at the Kleine Kerk. It was not until the liberation that it turned out that it was a Jewish family.

The Achelse Kluis has been a place where people settle for prayer and spirituality for centuries. Even today, there are still people who go here for peace and internalization. De Kluis is located on the border of North Brabant (NE) and North Limburg (BE) on the banks of the Warmbeek (BE) / Tongelreep (NE). The beer that is brewed in the Kluis is one of the few that can call itself Trappist beer, because there are only 11 beers that can bear this title.
