Vught and the Iron Man walking route

Your walking route starts at the cozy Brabant Hotel De Kruishoeve, within walking distance of the IJzeren Man. That's where you go first. From the road you have some beautiful views of the Iron Man. This recreational lake is named after the steam dredging mill that dug the pit in the nineteenth century. You also walk through a leafy residential area. Let your legs loosen while you admire the beautiful buildings. After a while you walk along a dirt road into the forest of the Vughtse Heide. You pass one of the three lunettes from 1844 that are located here. This lunette contains an impressive war memorial. At junction 16 you can visit National Monument Camp Vught, a concentration camp in the Second World War.
