This route takes you along historical country estates with beautiful gardens and parks along the Vecht, the Loosdrechtse Plassen and 's-Graveland. Cycle along the water and discover centuries-old villages and special buildings with a rich history along the way.
From country estate to country estate
The starting point of this tour is at the TOP Maarsseveense Plassen. Here you can easily park your car and then set off. From here you cycle through the Loosdrechtse Plassengebied to Nieuw-Loosdrecht and 's-Graveland. Along the way you can get off to take a look at Tuin Murrenhof, Kasteel Museum Sypesteyn with its castle garden and the ornamental garden of Gooilust and the nearby rhododendron valley. All these places are highly recommended if you like to admire plants and trees.
On to Breukelen
From 's-Graveland you cycle on to Breukelen and Maarssen. Along the way you are surrounded by the water of the Loenderveense Plas, the Wijde Blik and the river Vecht. Around Breukelen you will find various country estates with gardens and parks on the Vecht. For example, admire the centuries-old Rupelmonde or the Vijverhof. Along the route you will find plenty of nice places to sit down for a bite to eat and a drink.
Knight's Manor Gunterstein
The last attraction on this route is Knight's Court Gunterstein. Get off here for a walk through the park near the house. From the winding paths you have a beautiful view of the historic house. You end your tour again at the TOP Maarsseveense Plassen by the water.
