Description
Around Ospel you walk through a wonderfully quiet rural area. You will also visit De Groote Peel National Park.
Visitor center
You walk through the countryside on car-free roads. As you look out over fields and grasslands, you will get into your rhythm. At junction 82 you can walk into the Visitor Center of De Groote Peel National Park. Here you will learn more about the history and nature of this unique nature reserve.
The Peel
Then you walk into the Groote Peel. The Peel area was once more than 30,000 hectares in size. Now there are only 4,500 hectares of raised peat left, of which approximately 1,400 hectares are located in the Groote Peel. Here you walk through a landscape of fens, moist forest and reeds. It seems like primeval nature, but this area was partly shaped by peat extraction. From the observation tower you have a beautiful view over the wetland.
