Description
This route takes you over Goeree-Overflakkee. Cycling through the vast polder landscape, you will have no trouble charging the proverbial battery.
Flakkee swallow
At t Wapen van Stellendam you can enjoy a relaxing terrace before you get on your bike. In the polders you immediately notice the peace and space that Goeree-Overflakkee is known for. In Melissant you can take a look at the beautiful village church from 1863. Then you cycle quite a bit along the Slikken van Flakkee. This nature reserve consists of mud flats and salt marshes overgrown with rye, grasses and shrubbery.
Beautiful Middle Harness
On the Scharloodijk in Herkingen you will see two beautiful monuments: the seventeenth-century Visbank and the village church from 1788. In Nieuwe-Tonge you pass D\\\'Oranjeboom, a flour mill from 1768. Further on you pass the Vlieger, a watercourse where you will find a lot of natural beauty around the shore. You will also pass through the protected townscape of Middelharnis, and you will find a unique history due to the many well-preserved monuments.
