Swallowing of Flakkee
At 't Wapen van Stellendam, you can relax on a terrace before getting on your bike. In the polders, you'll immediately notice the peace and tranquility for which Goeree-Overflakkee is known. In Melissant, you can admire the beautiful village church dating back to 1863. Then, you'll cycle a good distance along the Slikken van Flakkee. This nature reserve consists of mudflats and salt marshes covered with rye, grasses, and scrub.
Beautiful Middelharnis
On the Scharloodijk in Herkingen, you'll see two beautiful monuments: the 17th-century Visbank (Fish Market) and the village church from 1788. In Nieuwe-Tonge, you'll pass D'Oranjeboom, a corn mill dating from 1768. Further on, you'll pass the Vlieger, a waterway with abundant natural beauty along its banks. You'll also pass through the protected village of Middelharnis, whose many well-preserved monuments offer a unique historical experience.
