Helmond: Mierlo-Hout / Brewery / Bakelse Bos / Groot Goor

Once you leave the city centre via the Bakelsedijk, you will have to wait a long time before you see another signpost. I often doubted whether I had walked the right way, but the rule here is that you just have to go straight ahead. I didn't see junction 77 and that's partly why I walked a bit around and eventually came back to the route via junctions 41 and 78. There is also one junction where someone removed the signs (May 2018). You have to go straight ahead here! So take a good look at the map beforehand or print it out!

STARTING POINT: 

In the heart of Mierlo Hout is a large (free) parking lot. The starting point is at the church, so that is easy to recognize and also easy to reach via the A270. That is a great starting point.

ENVIRONMENT:

The first part runs along the railway to the center, but after you have left the beloved Castle Garden and the terraces behind you, it is a bit of a struggle over narrow footpaths along busy highways. That lasts until the Bakelse Bos, a modest, but very nice piece of green. The part about the companies is quite boring, but the walk ends in a beautiful piece of nature.
