The charm of Delft is best discovered with a walk. This route takes you through the historic center and some nice neighborhoods around it.
New Church
In the city centre of Delft you will see one beautiful monument after another. For example, you will pass the fourteenth-century Nieuwe Kerk with the mausoleum of William of Orange, a well-known tourist attraction. On the Rijn-Schiekanaal you will see the Sint-Huybrechtstoren and the Rietveldse Toren: two remaining towers of the medieval city wall. On the Delftweg you will pass the Delftse Pauw, a seventeenth-century pottery factory.
New Stone
You will also get to know the green side of Delft: the route takes you past the Agnetapark and Wilhelminapark. You will pass the Oost-Indisch Huis, the former Delft branch of the VOC from 1631. The Nieuwe Steen from 1620 is one of the last sights. This city hall was built around the Oude Steen, a tower that is the oldest building in Delft.
