Oirschotse Heide

This route runs completely through forest area. There is only one real parking space and you can find it at junction 67. The official starting point of this route is an alternative, but if there are two cars there it becomes difficult. 

SIGNAGE:

No sign = straight ahead! And that happens quite often. Staatsbosbeheer has been quite economical with the signs and they are not always in the most visible places. So you always have to look around carefully.

ENVIRONMENT:

This is a tough walk! The Oirschotse Heide is the training area for the military base in Oirschot. To make it more difficult for the tanks, a large part of the paths consist of soft sand and that is downright difficult to walk on. There is also a part where you walk on a narrow and dense path where mountain bikes also cycle. That can be dangerous! Halfway through the route you walk on a paved cycle path, followed by a stretch of well-maintained forest path, but otherwise it takes a lot of work. But the surroundings are beautiful and it is wonderfully quiet.
